A few of my friends who organize free parties have got themselves into trouble because of facebook.. The last party we threw the police turned up in force with a specialized anti-rave unit and shut us down hard and seized all of our equipment. The people who actually 'admin' the group on fb are being charged for some bullshit. If it wasn't for facebook they wouldn't have found out and they wouldn't have a name to blame.
I'm very weary of what groups I join and what I say on my facebook now.

It's not hard to stay out of trouble really on it. Have a few chats with people,see what they're up to and that and it's good to know what's going on.

Facebook only shows whatever information you put up
People only have to log on facebook whenever they want to
It's a really good way to stay in touch with people if you don't have time to call everyone, etc.
I mainly just use it for the chat feature
Also, the events page is especially nice because most people I know, if they are throwing a party or any kind of fun event, will put it up on facebook.
I use it for school a lot too since the clubs use facebook and it's easy to figure out where/when I need to be somewhere

I hate facebook b/c my friends constantly posted up every single thing that happened to them in a given day, so when I actually saw them and talked to them, I knew everything that they'd been up to and there was nothing to talk about.

"You didn't see my facebook update about ____?"
When all the people that I never wanted to see or hear from again started finding me, I thought about deleting it. When my mom facebooked me, it was game over.

Haha, not really but lot's of people (usually the younger crowd) will spend hours and hours on Facebook a day and the only way they can control themselves is to delete it entirely. I deleted mine about a year ago, at first it's strange how different life was, but now it's normal to me..

I just like an easy way to keep up with all my friends, organize events, and spread information. Also, I despise talking on the phone.
I would say someone making such a broad, judgmental assertion (especially about something that matters so little) is the one with a huge ego.
