Washington Question
    #1346593 - 03/02/03 11:50 AM (14 years, 4 months ago)

I was just wondering if Panaeolus subbalteatus is the only active Panaeolus found in the state of washington. I have looked around some sites and some sites say there is more but then others only say that pan subs are the only ones. I just want to get the facts straight. Thanks for any help.

If only you really looked for more than 5 minutes!

The PNW, especially Washington and Oregon have many actives. Do a search or something.. There are a few different types of Psilocybe's: cyanescens, stunzii, azurescens, semilanceata, baeocystis...

Well, I am not trying to be rude but if you would actually look at my question i was asking if there were more active Panaeolus mushrooms in the PNW then just Panaeolus Subbalteatus because i have found sties and books with mixed information. I just want to get the facts straight. I know plenty about the local Psilocybes and i have learning a lot latley, especailly since i came to this site.

OKay, well, Im used to many people not really knowing what they are talking about and just asking for the actives in the area.

So to answer your question: no, there are not any active Panaeolus species besides subbalteatus.

If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

you should note that if there are casters in the area, they are rather uncommon.
