Growing OK but contam on botton of casing. HELP QUILK!!!PICS

OK, I'm following the SOS (sea of shrooms) TEK. I have one casing that I removed from the cup. I've had it in my terrarium for a little more than a week now and its fruiting nicely. This morning I noticed a brown growth on the bottom of the casing. It looks like a dry brown powder. My question is, should I throw away the whole casing? should I cut of the bottom and continue to grow the shroomies? Are these OK tro eat?

You can see the brown growth on the bottom of the cake but healthy looking shrooms on top...whats the deal...is this contam?


Again the brown contam on the bottom of the casing.



And yet again, a brown dry powdery substance on the bottom of the cake.



By the way-I followed the SOS tek to the T and the strain is B+. Thanks!!
Opinions...? PLEASE HELP!!

If it was mine I would toss it..fast. Especially if it is dry and powdery and a mold..

It doesn't worth the risk, i'd say toss it.

Ok...since I'm very thick headed I went ahead and cut off the bottom of the casing. I am now left with a good upper half with no signs of contam and healthy looking pins. I am curious to how the casing continues to grow. I was always under the impression that mushrooms wouldn't grow through or with contamination on the casing.

I doubt I'll eat these shrooms, again, I'm curious to see how it plays out. If they grew to be healthy shrooms and I didn't see any more signs of contam here on out would it be safe to consume?

The casing that was contaminated was in the upper left corner. (its the one half the size of the others:-)
