My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

yall want a good secret? go on to the archive and try and find shows that are rated highly but don't have many page views, that's how you can find some real gems.
for instance...
check out the scarlet begonias from http://www.archive.org/details/gd78-09-02.sbd.jools.7925.sbeok.shnf
it always gets me high if i make an effort to listen to the music.
ever notice that?
i dunno if its just me but, the deads music sounds so much better when you actively listen, to like the music you know, instead of just kinda letting it be background.
lovin yall

Without a doubt. And thanks for sharing that secret.

Almost kind of sad, but 90% of the time my ipod is in or i'm listening to music anywhere it is the dead. Love them, love the raw sound.

I also think it's important, for me at least, not to form an overt attachment to any one band or one style. I try and stay perceptive to other people's music and that golden opportunity to be introduced to something entirely new and amazing.
It happened to me this weekend. I was on MDMA, but it's been confirmed sober.

sure thing Lion.
this video is hilarious... sounds like jerry is really laughing at the fact that he's singing about rain and snow on the fourth of july... thats just a guess though. if you listen hard though you can tell theres some kind of inside joke going on, because jerry is on the verge of laughing the whole song almost
hahahaha
enjoy
oh, another thing i learned is not to overthink the music.
when the band is on, your so high that there is no reason to think anyway.
and when they are off i just do something else like wash the dishes and ignore them for a while... nobodys perfect!

I agree. The help-slip-franklins might just be the best ever. 5-7-77 aint too shabby either. although 5-28-77 is my favorite show from spring of 77.
