Probably cruelty and tyrany, especially those targeting people I can identify with. I think my capacity to be offended and motivated to bitch/do something is greater than more positive motivators... though I guess in a way those that fight against such things that strike a nerve with me get me inspired... groups like the ACLU, EFF (some of their stuff, not the net neutrality nonsense), wikileaks, drug policy alliance, amnesty international, et cet et cet
cynically, it does seem I'm more motivated by the more frivolous things that directly affect me than the more obscure that are more severe: hunger, foreign corruption, government torture/arbitrary imprisonment, the pope doing pope things

Mushrooms because they satisfy many of my desires. So many highs. I had one today. After many years of attempting it, I successfully printed several copies of Panellus stipticus, a mushroom that glows brightly in the dark.

Kind of like a negative reinforcement? If your put down it inspires you to come back stronger? I can see that in myself too. I like a challenge and dont really accept defeat from myself. Send me a link if you don't mind, I was trying to search on the ACLU, there's just so much out there.
Thanks for the detail!!!

I'm going to look into them, thank you.

Sorry to post more than once a time. It's a bad habit I have from living on my iPhone. I tend to send after each point, I'll work on that.

aside from life and especially death, that's the kind of stuff that inspires me
art that really centers on the core of life and death...for lack of a better description atm
also, I find that people who are most free to be their creative selves are the most inspiring

subliciouscompost said: Icelander, send me some good philosophy posts if you don't mind, or even books i should read. I am so interested but know very little about it. Concepts such as Time really blow my mind. It's such an open art and I believe if everyone were more into it, philosophy could really help our society in so many ways, especially in depression.
It's more physics than philosophy, but a brief history of time by stephen hawking is really interesting.

John Frusciante. For people who don't know him, he was the second guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers after Hillel Slovak. He has also done many solo albums. He is not only a huge inspiration to me because of his music, but also his personality, life views, and his just overall uniqueness.
