im using the half pint cake method for growin my shrooms and someone suggested i tryin casing them...they said it was easier and got way better results...so i was reading and found this...... "Now, the Theory behind this method is that when using half-pint cakes, cutting a cake in half and fruiting each half-cake will produce roughly twice the yield in the end compared to if you had fruited a whole one. I, along with a few others, have tried this and repeatedly found it to be absolutely true!" I was wondering what you think about casing opposed to the tek cakes....and the quote...anyone tried to cut their cakes in half?

Its all about surface area if you cut in in half you increase the surface area same as if you crumble the cakes and case them. The increased surface area allows more place for pins to form.IMO crumbling cakes produces a greater surface area than cutting them in half but both can produce better results than just birthing the cakes.

I am in the process of trying that tek now. You can check out my grow log in the Grow Log Forum. I heard it works wonders. I haven't reached harvest time just yet. I'll keep the grow log updated...

No. YOu would make standard pf jars to the T. After full colonization you would crumble (Personally, I like to slice them into 1/4" rounds) then case as usual.

I've seen quite a few ways with cakes and the big ones seem to put out well. Small cakes seem to have small flushes
