Early pin!

A friend has some Lipa Yai that he colonized in rye and transferred to poo in a rubbermaid. It is only about 30 to 40% colonized and he's already got a pretty big pin coming on strong. Should he introduce fruiting conditions or just leave it in the dark and allow it to fully colonize?

not casing it? you gotta keep it away from light during colonization, lest pins form. i don't know about your predicament man... you're risking contamination whichever way you go at this point i think.

He said he planned on casing it after it was completely colonized. It has been in the dark awaiting full colonization and this pin formed.

I would remove the pin and wait until full colonization before casing.

If its 30-40% then I'd say to go ahead and induce fruiting.
