success with birdseed
    #1342388 - 02/28/03 07:09 AM (20 years, 11 months ago)

my dog has 7 drinking glasses colonizing with the brf and vermiculite tek and 2 pint jars colonizing with birdseed. the two birdseed jars are innoculated with tazmanian, and half the drinking glasses are creeper and the other half taz. my dog doesnt have a pc, so he wasent expecting much success with the birdseed jars due to all the nasty bacterial endospores and such. so after fractionally sterilizing it  4 times, he inoculated it with 2 cc's of taz. coming back about 1 week later, (was stored at around 78 degrees) he wasent expecting to see anything. some of the jars with the vermiculite/brf  have been colonzing for MONTHS!!!!!! so, much to his surprize, half the fucking 1 pint jar was colonized!!! he almost creamed my pants   then he gave it a good shake. next week it will be completely colonized so he can start casing....2 weeks for one pint of birdseed.......just wanted to let other nubs like my dog know that birdseed is da shit and that fractional sterilization really works.
(please excue my horrible spelling...... :frown:)

That's very cool. Have you considered using the seed as spawn instead of casing it?
