It was like getting shot in the stomach for me. Our first real chance to take a defiant stance against the federal government and Cali fucking blew it in epic fashion.
I hope the Illuminati Jesus aliens will save us from this debacle of an existence

What pisses me off is all the people already making money off the quasi legal status of cannabis that voted 'no' because they were afraid they'd make less if the measure passed

Its horrible. The thought process of people. Money brings so many people to their dirty little knees. I just dont even know what to do anymore. I lost a lot of hope that day.

Its not over by any means. There is a measure planned for the 2012 ballot already.
It might take more than a few tries. There were a lot of factors. Out of state interests donating money to the campaign to stop 19, The weird divisons in the voting population, Cops for it, stoners against, Entrepreneurs ready to make a buck for it as well as whole cities planning on making millions and millions.
It would have been a clusterfuck if it passed. We need to prepare a bit more and understand what we are getting ourselves into. There were many loopholes in porp 19 that if it had passed wouldnt have been to great.

dude i know, i was out there talking to people and handing out flyers that i made and payed for, got all my friends to vote, and yet the reason we lost is not because of the dumbass christ loving sheep half of california, it was because of the selfish stoners.
do not hate california, we fucking fought to get this thing passed. youjust cant talk to some people, especially when your talking about there income, it sickens me
god damnit, i tried to find the quote but nthing is showing up on google, it basically goes
"he who (fights, revolts, argues,) for nothing more than for the love of his fellow man, shall not fail"
it was put better than that but its true, i dont want my kids to have to go to some back alley or hide from society and school because he likes smoking weed, and for all of you people who live in the hella strict anti weed states, since its already pretty legal here in cali, we are fighting for you.

I get all that but its just what you said that worries me. This should not be just about making profit or the people that fear the lovely plant for whatever reason.
It should be about ending prohibition and stop send people to jail and stop terrorizing people and their family's for this shit. Among other things as well but I just dont understand the logic that most people have and Im sure they do not understand mine.
I just dont fucking get it.

In the end it was the old people who voted most heavily against it (unsurprisingly) - The same fucks that make us pay for their lazy asses to do nothing all day, a pleasure that we may not ever share... The same fucks that made this nation as great and terrible as it is.... those same fucks who bore your parents

the logic is that there were: -huge errors made in the bill -its already decriminalized -you have more than one chance to get this bill passed -no clause in bill to release prisoners
so why would you want to pass a faulty bill? my huge concern is that the next bill will be even more restrictive.

dude dont you see, we had to pass this in order to gain public support for the next one, starting to challenge to feds now is much better than 2 years from now
and the bill specifically said revisions could be made to it, so all those things it was lacking could have been addressed later, the bill was written so people who dont normally like weed would possibly approve it.

you already have public support, get the stoners on board who have a hand in all that money they are making (hello arcata). ie better bill
also if prop 19 passed, you just provide a firm reason not to give a shit about the revision, cuz the only ppl who want it straight are your so called "greedy stoners"

ok, here is the thing. No matter what bill you present, alot of the growers (i.e arcata) are guna say NO no matter what, why?
because legalization means their product is guna be worth 1/8th of what it was, and they are going to say that its going to be corporatized no matter what
