I spread at least 100 spore prints all over a few pastures, over  months and months worth of time.I sprayed them all over the bales of hay,the grain troughs,on piles and piles of straw/dung,you name it,and I sprayed it.I had so many prints in my bottle the water was the darkest black/purple that I had ever seen.So you know billions upon billions were released.Surely something should have grown, but nada:smirk:Even in Florida where I knew the conditions were exactly right, they never sprouted:mad2:

Sometimes it will take more then one year for the mycelium to build a large and strong enough mat to be able to fruit. I bet when you check again in this upcoming year you will have better luck. I wish you you all the luck in the world. mushroom vibes your way :wizard:

well yeah, with wood lovers that may be true, but I don't think it works that way for dung lovers.Once the spores are eaten by the cow/horse they are germinated within the body, and then the dung is defecated out, with germinated spores inside. Then they begin to rapidly colonize the dung, and push out mushrooms.Surely it wouldn't take until next season for any of the piles to push out mushrooms, but hey, what do I know:grin:Also, being as I live in a subtropical state that is unfortunately devoid of cubensis I figured it was possible for them to grow here,as they grow in some cities that have my exact temperature range,They also grow the State right under me!Who knows, maybe you wishing me that luck, will have good consequences:grin:Thanks my man:thumbup:

it does work, have faith!!

pan cinctulus spores i germinated ghetto tek and sprayed in my yard. ive lived here for 7 years and never had any come up here before. so this is a successful example.

and here is 2 nice patches of P cyanescens that i germinated ghetto tek and sprayed at my parents house. they have lived here my whole life and ive been into psilocybes for 15 + years and never saw one here ever.so heres 2 more examples.
patch 1
patch2

Those are some magnificent results psylosymonreturns:biggrin:

Awesome self germinated patches, must be great going back every year to find them growing there again:jellyfish:

Really good stuff:congrats::bigjoint::cheers:

thanks olive!

these are all first year patches but i can only anticipate those patches to get way bigger as i babied them, i cut almost all the stems and only harvested a few stem butts . and i let them all mature and release spores.plus the second patch of cyans there is directly dead center in the middle of a woodchip garden path that goes 20 feet in each direction!  the only issue is competeing wine cap spawn. but its been established for a few years and kind of sticks to one corner of the garden.

This thread was what gave me the idea http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/3269646/fpart/1/vc/1 How may of you all think that this guy was either not in Kansas,or started those himself with spawn?I know Kansas is 20 times colder than it is here, and it is not even a humid subtropical state. So if in fact they grow there, then they should be able to grow in most every Midwestern, southern state then.I also gotta think he was lying, because this would have been a breakthrough in mushroom hunting, and his post would have gotten way more attention than it did.

Let's say the desire was to attempt noc'ing up some sterilized jars directly with spore syringe.  Is there consensus on the optimum mix for the jars?  Ie, BRF-type mix, cellulosic of some type, a mix of those two?  Talking about cyans and azures here.

Additionally, now that some of you have more time with this under your belts, is there any reason to think one or the other of the above two mentioned species are appreciably more cold-hardy than the other?

Finally (For now!), if one was using the Tyvec under the lidcaps, a la Wisco, can the inoculation proceed directly through that Tyvec?

Thanks

I thought this was crazy, I went for a little walk today in an area where I sprayed cyanescens LC and saw that it has begun to cannibalize a living tree!

Maynard, it looks right, what with the ropey rhizomorphic growth, and you did spray LC there.  Yet I wonder if it is actually P.cyanescens.  It's a little hard to tell from the pics exactly where on these live plants this stuff is.  But that is atypical for sure.

Hmmmm?

Here are the stem butts of the last psilocybe that I found on some egg carton. I noticed that there is some grey mycelium growing on this as well and I think that it is probably some other kind of mushroom growing on here too.

Maynard, I have noticed the same grey whispyness on some of my "butt" projects. I have been theorizing that it is a by-product of the organic materiail rotting. On my azure butts its happening but the myc seems to be eating it. Pics in my journal. Nice "tree myc" btw....

Hi all

new to the shroomery ( but been a visitor for some years now )

this is my kind of thread !!!

trying to spread some cyan love in the middle east...

Had more than a few cyan patches growing for years , used to spread mycelium over wood chip piles around the city , but now back to my worm country  ,and unfortunately , NO ACTIVE PSILOCYBES here !! (but i knew that already  i am sure no one attempted to introduce any kind of psilocybe to nature , so decided to try and make it my mission ,ps cyan in the next fall or the one after , they shall grow !!!

it is  hard to find  good wood chips around here , but got my hand on some pet bedding wood chips (beech)

toke a long drive (100miles) to the forests on the mountains
made 4 mini patches in the dampest spots i could find and hope it will survive the hot summer, as i won't be around to water the patches .
had also 2 spray bottles, that i had put some wood chips covered with mycelium in them ( just like German Kahuna suggestion in the beginning)
spraying all over the forest on any big or small wood chip pile

i have 2 backup jars with beechwood chips and just bits of cardboard with mycelium  , if anything goes wrong with the patches...

will post some pics of the jars soon

  peace
