well since Zaps arent technically a wood lover , it might not work with them. Or you may have to try something else.

I had success growing out indoor cubensis stembutts using the brown coffee filters .

So you may just have to try again . Try currogated cardboard, try the egg carton kind of cardboard, and try brown coffee filters.

i have also been exposed to this new/different tek from the cult guys. you take a piece of cap or a full cap, put in a brand new ziplock bag, let all the air out and seal it. leave it for a week.

The cap is supposed to revert back to mycelium. You take this myc and put it on agar. or i have read people even by pass  and have had success going to straight to sterilized grain. its not fool proof but it does apparently work out sometimes.

I think they are woodlovers.. but the thing is that they are not primary decomposers of wood... they are second or even tertiary decomposers, they use wood that has already been broken down by other means... I say this because i have seen them growing out of very old pine bark and pine cones...

besides alan and cactu say they are indeed woodlovers and claim they have already done cardboard tek with them, Ive never seen it but I believe!

so if they are a secondary decomposer than they are like P stuntzii. I have never had success with them either.

But I know Bfogg says he has . just keep trying, or try some of the ghetto spore germination teks this thread is full of!!

Put your spores/ spore water/LC onto already decomposed wood (Standing alders that are rotten work well for making mulch and chips) Add to compost with a bit of food grade gypsum (available in Asian food markets) some crushed oyster shell, some sort of organic nitrogen (I use nitrogen fixers from red alder. They look like sponges attached to the roots) I use home made compost to be sure there are worm castings and organics. Spawning grain to a mixture of this works great, but be weary of mice and other rodents eating the grain. I will be posting a ghetto method for making good LC's without a pressure cooker in the cult forum soon. Hope this helps.

Wow I'd been interested in the easiest way the such mass spawn production, it's taken up most of my time getting four or five sorted!

bfogg you are a magical warrior of the highest order and folks in your vicinity are in for a treat! :bananahorsey: :mushroom2:

Good thinking on the injecting beds as the thought passed my mind during the dry Summer months that any LC spray on the top surface of chips would most likely be killed by the dry conditions. A few chips down out of Sunlight though it's a different story and fledgling myc woyuld stand a much better chance of survival and thus growth.

Lawn LC Injection Method.
I will explain how I have been injection liquid culture into fields, lawns, and wood chips. This one I did is about the worst one I've done so far, but the sacrifice was worth the pics. Enjoy everyone.

Step 1: Relax, and remember that it's all just for fun and to spread the species.

Step 2: Choose your culture. I'm using P. cyanofibrillosa in this batch.

Step 3: Get tools ready. Normally I do this in my glovebox, but for the sake of pictures, I just used a paper towel and a sponge soaked in alcohol as my injection "buffer"

Step 4: Make your syringe. When I got my case of syringes, they didn't have any plastic tips, so I clamp the ends of the needles closed with channel locks while they are still red hot from the torch, for transport and storage.

Step 5: Find your spot and start injecting in a grid. The smaller the spacing the better, but I tend to not go over 6"X6" grids. Bring as much LC as you need for however large an area you are covering. In lawns, I inject about 1" down, in chip beds, about 3" down and again at 1" down in an overlapping grid, adding about 2ml into each injection point. Repeat once each week for three weeks. water if possible. It's pretty easy to cover large areas in a short amount of time.

It depends on the species. This was 3% brewers dextrose mixed into 1 gallon of water that was used to boil some potatoes for dinner. I strain the solids out, add the dextrose, (each jar gets 600ml) PC at 15psi for 60 mins.

well friends here it its!!! my first proof and success of a ghetto spore germination tek!! :headbanger:

ive had a few sessions germinating Pan subb spores and spraying them in my grass. i also patched up my lawn with some soil mixxed with dung and spread grass seed and sprayed some germinated spores on that stuff.

well heres the fruits of my labor! ive lived here for 8 years and have never found anything but the odd foe. and i really started printing them to see if there was ever a subb. and there wasnt til now!

This thread is true inspiration guys :thumbup::mushroom2:- I've been dunking Agrarics and others**  in my watering can and watering my lawn and neighborhood stumps. Also  transplanted some "wild" wine cap mycelium which is now growing on everything in site including the bottom of the cardboard box I transported it in. We'll see what happens...
Thanks

Methinks it about time to post any successful fruitings here guys

I noticed Psylosimon had success with subbs... anyone else. Any more grass-lovers? Any semis?

I didn't have time to get to my ghetto grows this year, ankle-biters are keeping me hopping. Would love to live vicariously through others though.

Cheers guys

Oh man, I hadn't thought of this.  Probably because all my jars got contaminated.

Looks like I'm going to give this a go after I get enough spore prints from fields.

Successful Psilocybe baeocystis cultivation by just spraying this area with LC once a week for three weeks in from the end of March - mid April. This thread has pushed some serious boundaries that needed to be broken. Spreading magic around doesn't seem to labor intensive after all. Tons of pins coming up in the patch too. They are staying small for a while, then they just explode. :mushroom2:

Awesome work Bfogg!!!

You'll need to get me some prints from those, very nice to see some success here!!! One thing to theorise about it and even get a jar going but another thing altogether with successful fruits. Cheers
