Think it's the Shroomery
Great looking starts... Out last weekend... Had an old 3/4 ounce of cyan... Dropped it all over town... Also had an ounce of pan cinct... Powdered and dusted all over... Still have some pan cinct mycelium juice to go out...
Should be a great fall!!!!!

Looking like some good tacos there psylo. I haven't posted in this thread for a while, but I'll try to add some pics later on this weekend.
I will say that my patch count is up to about mid 70's. They are all over the Puget Sound, and most are made with a wood frame with a BF carving in them (the B is on top with the F below and attached). 23 cyanofib beds, about 19-20 cyan beds ( I lost track ), 13 ovoid beds, 5 baeocystis beds, 6 azure beds, and 5 stuntzii beds. Psilocybe subaeruginosa are soon to follow. I hope people find them this year. My goal is to spread the magic for the greater good

You truly are a machine Bfogg... nice work man! Put me down right to shame. I ended up having too unstable of a living situation to start as many patches as I wish I could have. I probably started about 5 Cyan patches (hopefully more that I don't know about from the thousands I picked throughout last season.. ) - didn't want to waste the more rare things I acquired.
I imagine it's too late to try and start any new patches here in Oregon, eh? Maybe some Azzies?

Can start new patches, in my thinking, though might not produce this year but could set up for 2012, the year of the mushroom!
Bfogg is the king... Love it... Think I am at about 30-40 some locations, with normally more than one patch at each.... Some city, some not... Fingers are crossed! Put them in google earth for locations, what I put where. Our fabulous city had been doing a lot of mulching with wood chips... Come on October!!!

Thanks for the kind words. I've also been noticing tons of chips being spread around. Can't say I haven't taken advantage of it As for the patches, I would imagine it depends. As for cyans and the like, they will not fruit if made this year, but maybe something like libs or blue ringers would if they had a month or so.
I have much to update, but I'll try to make it simple and short. The fib beds are going great, baeos are not so well, ovoids are taking over (a few patches have added a few sq. feet to their size) and everything else is doing fine. I'll try to upload pictures if anyone wants to see.
I started to test out a new method of making LC jars a ghetto way, and it's working great. I take a pot and fill it with the solution I want to use (a good basic is a 3% Karo or brewers dextrose solution, 15ml of dry potato flakes, a pinch of sea salt and a pinch of malt. I make 600ml batches at a time.) I then fill the jars totally full of the same solution. Put on a lid with two RTV ports and screw it on loose. Place them in the pot so they are totally submerged. Boil for an hour with the lid on the pot. Once done, grab the jars with a jar clamp (I got mine at a dollar store. used for grabbing hot jars when canning) and then close the jars tight. The rest is self explanatory. When taking LC out, I put an open syringe stuffed with poly-fill into one port, then draw from the other so a vacuum doesn't start.
Ok, last thing. I gave up on spraying lawns or chips with LC, and moved on to injecting LC into the ground. I simply put one 2cc injection every 6x6" square, kinda like grid paper. I've found that I can inject tons of live mycelium directly to where it should be growing on a large scale, very quickly. If anyone needs more insight to this process, I will be happy to elaborate.
I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

Stuntzii, baeocystis, libs, cyanofibs, and several pan species. I'm gonna start doing wood lovers this weekend. ovoids, cyans, friscosa, azures, and the subs from australia. Finally got a few good, clean isolates to work with;) Clean, isolated Conocybe LC is coming very soon.
The libs are yours (doing great on agar and just destroying LC) and your pelliculosa are happily eating away at some agar and LC as well. Just a matter of time

Use this recipe for expansion. I've had good results with gyms using it 93 ml of water, 2 ml of light Karo and 2 ml of organic honey. Add a very small pinch of food grade gypsum and about 5ml of potato water concentrate (I boil two lbs of potatoes like I'm making mashed taters, then strain through cheese cloth and jar up the juice to freeze).I'm experimenting with boiling my water in wood chips before I use it to make the LC recipe, so I get to extract the goodies I used this recipe with your gyms and had awesome results.

Thanks man, It's an honor to get that sort of recognition from anyone, especially the gym master I'll get some pics up in the next day or so. And yes, you heard right!!!!! Your conocybe smithii are doing GREAT in the LC Grains are next, along with tons on lawns getting knocked up. They will be coming back your way sometime soon.
Conocybe smithii, thanks to Wiscokid. Maynard, yours are coming up next

It's my pleasure man. Those are just the first jars of the isolate I can't wait to see what it looks like on grain.

it became this big chunk which i added a big handful of oak chips too.
this is what it looked like last week.from 2 chips to a large ziplock full of azzie spawn in a few months!! i have added another handful since and its already ready for more!! the appetite for these oak chips is incredible!

Hi!! I am trying to do this with zapotecorum mycelium using the stem butts... well I put some soaked cardboard around the stem butts and used the taco tek, but its molding... should i leave it aouside so it gets air flow and the mold dies??? wtf i really want to make new patches
I think the problem started when i put the stem buts in a ziplock bag... now i have them in a basket that lets air in...

well since Zaps arent technically a wood lover , it might not work with them. Or you may have to try something else.
I had success growing out indoor cubensis stembutts using the brown coffee filters .
So you may just have to try again . Try currogated cardboard, try the egg carton kind of cardboard, and try brown coffee filters.
i have also been exposed to this new/different tek from the cult guys. you take a piece of cap or a full cap, put in a brand new ziplock bag, let all the air out and seal it. leave it for a week.
The cap is supposed to revert back to mycelium. You take this myc and put it on agar. or i have read people even by pass and have had success going to straight to sterilized grain. its not fool proof but it does apparently work out sometimes.
