It might be a little late for starting spawn, but here's some azures on WBS after a few clean-ups on agar. The 1st pic is a couple weeks old, and the other two are only a few days old

Yep... Never to late though might be a year off...
This fall should be great... Next fall though... Once the chip wood has a year to sit, should be killer... If we were smart... Should split the area up this fall, so we are not spraying the same patches!!!
Man... Excited for this fall!!!!!

I've only logged on a few times since winter hit, I gotta say I'm pretty stoked that this thread is still alive and kickin. Thanks for all of the great information everyone has added!

This is a journal entry describing the sum of my experience (I am very young to this) with psilocybe cyanescens if anyone is interested. It's a bit on the wordy side but there's a couple okay pictures in there.

dude, don't sweat it! I started last fall with no experience AT ALL. They WANT to grow. Just give them some fresh air, relatively cold temps, and some woody debris with moisture retaining adds, and they will flourish! Enjoy it!

Well put Ryath. Hope the Azures are coming along well I did get the chance to spray about 20 different spots today with some cyanofib LC Only 1 quart left, then it's back to making more isolates.

well i had an idea the other day.
i had an ovoid print from one of our fine Pennsylvanian brothers on a a piece of paper instead of tin foil. So i boiled up some sugar /salt water soup like usual . scraped the spores into the water, then threw the whole damb print in.
well 3 days into it and there is some myc growing off the paper. pretty hard to get pics but i will try.
got some subbs going too and did up some BLGS's a few weeks ago and went spraying .
been a while since i contributed to this great thread.
winters! over time to get spraying boys and girls!!!

where's our pics psylo!?!
Here's a tribute to Workman, Bfogg, and Wisco, the chain of custody (I think) for some azure prints.
agar > cleaned > 3qt's WBS > layered into a 6qt shotgun dub-tub with soil and woody goodies of all sizes/shapes, then put outside. They are CHARGING through!

Many thanks to everyone for the ideas, help, and vibes!

Yes yes Ryath lovely rhizomorphic strands there
To be honest my crude attempts at the essence of this thread just ended with jar upon jar of mold as I tried to use for indoor expansion through the winter. Could it be such a tek is suited for straight outdoors where the odds are tipped in the favour of the woodloving myc(or was that my early crudeness using a microwave to sterilise and all )?
Been concentrating on getting some solid patches in place in an area they have never before been seen, once base camp established going to delve into this spreading of spores mycelium more seriously. The idea of cruising about with a backpack sprayer inoculating all in sight and starting a Psilocybe epidemic really floats the ole boat
My thoughts are with working from agar however as per GKs original suggestion as dipped my toes and this really is not any any way shape or form difficult with a simple glovebox and common sense sterile techniques (oh yeah and pre-poured plates )

Haven't really checked on any spots I sprayed last fall/winter, but when I get the chance, I'll check up on em But, some growth pics from a few ovoid beds, taken about a week or so ago. I've moved on to making lots of LC, and grain work. I'm so stoked on all the wood chips being used around the PNW. Piles and chip beds everywhere
And Ryath, Looking good
If anyone in this thread is looking for cheap supplies, I got a few links, especially for agar plates. Found 500 for $76 and free shipping (not ebay)

I think we should definitely keep these outside if weather permits. I had one jar in the fall get cobweb-like growth, and I put it in the windowsill above my shower with the window open. The outside breeze passing by cleaned it right up. Could be related to temp, FAE, or some unknown that is delivered via nature's beauty...
You talking about sterilizing the wood or the grain? All the early attempts I had going (up-thread) were Ps. cyan mycelium straight to cardboard/wood/soil with no sterilizing anything. Those have all been transplanted already
Regarding agar, I learned the hard way, but yeah... a GB/SAB definitely helps with the success rate. As a side note, I mix my agar/lme, heat it just a bit, then put into 1/2 pint jars to PC. I'm not sure if this is considered pre-pouring, but it's been working great!

Psilocybe Subaeruginosa
This is my first attempt at cultivation. Gathered the Mycellium etc... last year from a site 350 kms away. I followed a woodlovers tec from this site. Early days yet as its only just started to get cold enough. I'll add more pics as these grow and others arise.
