I use utorrent on a macbook. Maybe you didn't get the right version or something?? Try to find a version of utorrent that works since it's better than anything else imo.

I have a question then for you, how can i get utorrent to be my default torrent program, so that when i click download torrent it goes straight to utorrent, and how can i get the music to go straight to my itunes?

I know it wasn't directed at me - but just right click (or ctrl+click) on a torrent file, click get info and then in the "open with" section, choose the program.
I don't think it's possible to get music to go straight to iTunes... Just extract (if needed) the music, then put it where you want it, then open it in iTunes. It's not that hard :P

yeah, there's a reason transmission is the default linux torrent program. it's pretty sweet.
i use tixati now though. it's even better and looks 1000x sexier.

speaking of torrents, does anyone know of a good torrent search engine that scrapes the most popular public sites? i used to use scrapetorrent for that, but it fucking sucks now and more often than not will bring up a bunch of sites that aren't legit.

Related (kinda): Anyone know how to use rTorrent or any other client that requires using Terminal? Is it worth it?

yes it is. just change the transmission download directory to your itunes library.

maybe default for your distro of choice.. linux for the most part doesnt have default applications like that. having a million options is one of the appeals of using linux. they leave the decision up to you.

i use rtorrent every day. it is hands down the best torrent application ever made. you can use it on the console or you could install a gui frontend that runs on top of apache. its insanely flexible.
i posted a howto in S&T a few weeks ago. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/13319360#13319360
let me know if you have any problems. ill help out if i can.
