newbie need info

I just got a few caps of shrooms, but I'm not sure I should eat them because I'm not sure they are of the correct type. I don't know if it's possible to identify them just from this pic, but any of you have some advice?

Ok, thanks. I was looking for cubes. They just didn't seem to look right to me, I dunno... I'll still eat em.

hahaha..those look like dried shitake mushroom caps to me...
you shouldn't eat them if you don't 100% know what they are.

Those are 100% not P. cubensis, and assume with 70% that they are Shiitake.

those are shiitake's, ones you can find in the asian section of almost every grocery store in this country. they make a nice broth. hope you didn't pay for them, use the internet next time.
