IIs this a Tyvek envelope or not?
    #13409912 - 10/30/10 08:14 AM (13 years, 5 months ago)

I have a envelope from Pitney Bowes and was wondering if its Tyvek or not. It doesnt read tyvek anywhere on the envelope but its made with two parts. The outside feels kinda like waxy paper and the inside is kinda like a weird super smooth plastic with little squares in it. Don't have a USPS nearby so any help would be awesome.

Does it say "Dupont" anywhere on it?
Pics would help.

And you don't need a post office near you to obtain their envelopes, they will mail you them free of charge...just check their website.

Also, +5 for Anticon, well early anticon at least.

Nah it doesn't say Dupoint on it anywhere. I'm just gonna suck it up and order the ones from USPS website, hopefully they don't take too long to get here.

P.S. Early Anticon is the shit, they still are but back in the early 2000 and late 90's they were at the best.:smokeweedallday:

Takes about 10+ business days to arrive which is why our office stopped ordering them and just started nominating someone to pick them up from the PO once a week.

If you've got a hardware of craft store near you you may be able to find (better quality) tyvek in the form of painter's suits or kite tyvek.

Yeah, envelope tyvek isn't great for filters. Makes a badass envelope though.
Honestly I prefer polyfil over tyvek anyway.

If you're gonna use Tyvek, use the painter's cover-alls found at just about any hardware store. It's better than the envelope type stuff.

Try to rip it. If you cant rip it easily but you can cut it with scissors no problem then its probably tyvek.

I just get the priority mail envelopes from Fed Ex... there is a nifty little drop box near my house that is LOADED with them. They work like a champ for grain jars.
