The push for pot
October 28, 2010 - NBC News

The debate over marijuana has "sparked-up" again in California.

Voters will decide next Tuesday if California should allow recreational users 21 and older to smoke pot legally.

An unlikely support group, Moms For Prop 19, says making it legal could actually "weed out" problems in schools.

"We have an opportunity to have safer communities and, in fact, control cannabis away from our kids, if we simply choose to regulate and tax cannabis," says spokesperson Dale Jones.

It would generate revenue that cash-strapped California desperately needs right now.

Backers say passing the bill would allow police to focus on more serious crimes, ease tensions along the Mexican border and even provide more jobs.

Still, an overwhelming majority of law officers and government officials say those supporting the measure are just "blowing smoke".

Police argue they don't go after those already smoking in their homes.

"If you want to do a marijuana joint in your house, there isn't anyway in the world we in law enforcement care," says Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca.

State leaders point out a strong letter from Attorney General Eric Holder indicates if the measure passes the federal government won't look the other way like it has with the state's approved use of medical marijuana, which means even if Prop 19 passes next Tuesday the debate over marijuana use is likely to "roll on."

I guess the voters don't believe you, Baca, and prefer to have that in writing.

I think its going to pass.. history repeats itself. in 1849(i think) CA had the gold rush. Now its High time for the Green Rush!

One thing a lot people arent considering is how filthy rich CA would get from drug tourism. that market would fucking explode if 19 passes

EXACTLY!

Sheriff Baca's Salary for 2010 is $284,183:shake: Over a quarter million dollars.
Who is Baca trying to fool? He wants to arrest the currently illegal cannabis sellers and wants to keep the drug cartels running at full speed. He couldn't arrest the people selling it at stores legally! He says "Leave us cops alone, we just want to arrest your suppliers and take your cannabis while you drive home from your dealer so that you can't smoke at all, that is all we do, go ahead and smoke your imaginary cannabis at home."

If Baca honestly believes, you can get your supply of cannabis, without growing it, and without getting it from a drug dealer, and without having a medical license and without going and buying it, and just somehow, you have an unlimited supply of cannabis at your home that is never over a few grams (so your not considered a dealer), such as maybe he thinks you can just print out pictures of cannabis and smoke that... if he honestly thinks this, he needs to be FIRED!!!!
:slowtard:

We all know he is a liar. He knows your cannabis comes from somewhere, and the source is what he is admitting to going after. That is like saying "go ahead and drive your car, we don't mind, we are just arresting the car manufacturers, thats all, it is no big deal, we just want the car manufacturers out of business, and the car mechanics and the tools for repairing cars and the gas stations, yeah thats all, it won't effect you, so go ahead, vote no, cause it won't benefit anyone if you vote yes, thats all, yeah.. *evil grin*
:punish2:"

He lies saying "there is absolutely no benefit to anyone, including the users" How is going to a store to legally buy cannabis rather than going to a drug cartel or drug dealer and possibly getting killed/raped/robbed not a benefit? Oh thats right YOUR A COP!!!!

I bet if Baca was a teacher at a school for a 6 month class on how to clap your hands, he would also say "getting rid of this class will not benefit anyone, even the children".

We see right through your lies Baca. Get a real job you worthless satan worshiper.

Isn't Scientology the religion that you pay people a lot of money, isn't it basically a money scam? A fraud to get a lot of money? Guess what, Baca supports it.

"Connection to Scientology  Baca was a guest speaker at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International 35th Anniversary Gala in Hollywood, Saturday, August 7, 2004. At that event he acknowledged the Church of Scientology for being active at the forefront of conflict resolution.[16] Baca also made an appearance on a Scientology float in a 2004 Hollywood Christmas parade.[17] He also received an award from Association for Better Living and Education in 2004.[18][19] He was also a speaker at the re-opening of the Church of Scientology Los Angeles on 24 April 2010.  Baca's wife Carol Baca completed Student Volunteer Ministry Courses at the Celebrity Center in 2005."

"hi there"
"Hi, we were looking for a person roaming the neighborhood wearing a red shirt, do you know if the person in this picture..... is that a joint on your table there?"
"Yes officer, I was just doing a marijuana cigarette."
"SIR, Step outside! ...this is officer Brady we have a 215, were going to need a search warrant..."
