I would like for all of you to put your personal opinions of the Patriot act aside and list 1 reason why the Patriot act is a good thing...PinkWings is taking too damn long and I want to speed up the process.

I am seriously putting in an honest effort on this...and here is what I've come up with so far...

It has a really cool sounding name

I think the name is pretty scary. It's kind of Orwellian.

Something about getting those damn terrorists that destroyed our buildings ...I think.   Although I'm pretty sure they are already dead from the plane crash.

The patriot act is good for many reasons. First off it will eliminate terrorism in the USA. It has been running rampant for the last....while... and with all these security measures, makes a terrorist strike against the USA impossible. Secondly it will eliminate evil from the world. Just so happens that everyone not evil is already an ally of the states, so all those other nations have no value and may be abolished without conscience...increasing the wealth and power for america and its citizens! And finally it will eliminate drug users and every problem in the US. It all stems from crazed drug addicts who are evil and then become terrorists....by making no distinction between the three, some good MUST come from it. So in conclusion the the patriot act will eliminate evil, terrorism, and everything "bad" in the USA, thus bring peace and prosperity to all!!..........oh and dictorial control, but who cares what you can do right?

It makes it easier for government to jail people, they don't have to spend money on trials and bother with that stupid list of... what was it called??? Bill of goods??

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

I'm being completely serious when I say this: It promotes questioning of authority and freedom of expression, which are essential to this country. If anything good has come out of the Patriot Act, it's the fact that so many people have been rising up against it. Odd paradox, eh?

beware of misinformants, they are paid to deliberately spread word that the War on Iraq is good, to tell people we need the PA2. I wouldn't be surprised one or two of them are at work on this site.
