Snus is the shit! Dip is fermented and that's why you feel sick from swallowing it also contains much more Nitrosamines which are the cancer causing agents. Cigarettes contain 1-2 mg of nicotine and snus 4-17mg of nicotine so I doubt the amount would be enough to kill you, but overdosing on nicotine

Familiar Chemicals in Cigarettes
Chemical Found in:
carbon monoxide car exhaust //found in any burned material. If you smoke anything, you inhale this. Not dangerous at all except it has a higher affinity for hemoglobin than O2
nicotine bug sprays // Caffeine is also an insecticide. doesn't really apply in my opinion.
tar material to make roads //anything smoked will contain various amount of this...
arsenic rat poison //Because arsenic is so widespread, many foods contain significant amounts of arsenic. For most humans our greatest single exposure source is through food and water. Foods may contain 10 to 100 ug of arsenic per kilogram (ppm). The normal dietary arsenic intake is about 25-50 ug per day. source - here
ammonia cleaning products //Ammonia is present in foods. Ammonia in peanut butter (489 ppm), American cheese (813 ppm), and domestic blue cheese (1,376 ppm). The typical ammonia aroma of Brie and Camembert cheeses indicates higher levels of ammonia.
hydrogen cyanide gas chamber poison
cyanide deadly poison
acetone nail polish remover
butane cigarette lighter fluid
DDT insecticides
formaldehyde to preserve dead bodies
sulfuric acid car batteries
cadmium used to recharge batteries
freon damages earth's ozone layer
geranic acid a fragrance
methoprene a pesticide
maltitol a sweetener not permitted to be used in foods in the U.S.
Sources: Dr. Joel Dunnington, Tobacco Almanac, Revised, May 1993.
seems pretty clear cut,arsenic poison
I don't feel like going through the rest of the list. we are exposed to almost every single one of those on a daily basis. Saying that "this contains that, therefor this is bad" is not very accurate at all.
It all depends on how much is in a cig.
i can only think of 1 or 2 that i "might" be exposed to on a weekly or monthly basis. Some you are more than likely to never or rarely be exposed to unless your using tabacco. However if your using tabacco you get all of them at the same time. And then to ingest it in a way not intended is just insane. To try and downplay how dangerous this is doesn't seem very accurate to me either. The bottom line is you don't want to be drinking tabacco tea that contains all that crap. Not to mention tabacco causes cancer and kills, which by the way has happened from ingesting to much. And yah i agree it will depend on how much you take on weither or not you die, end up in the hospital, or just puke your guts out. Sure a person might be able to zero in on 3 drops of tea or something, but seriously with a list of chemicals like that its just insane, just why? Pure nicotine...sure i guess i could see that

check your quote that I quoted and put comments in after a comment sign. =P I listed two that a lot of people are exposed to on a couple times per week basis. I can go through the rest of the list if you want....
Some of them are not that dangerous except for much higher doses than a simple cig can give you. Acetone is one of those, butane is one of those.
Cyanide is present in many foods...
I agree that cigs are bad for your health, but I do not believe it is for the reasons listed.

yah ok you got me but look it was a trick i tricked you!
Quote:
In the United States, arsenic is most commonly found in the ground waters of the southwest.[45] Parts of New England, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota and the Dakotas are also known to have significant[clarification needed] concentrations of arsenic in ground water. Increased levels of skin cancer have been associated with arsenic exposure in Wisconsin, even at levels below the 10 part per billion drinking water standard.[46] According to a recent film funded by the US Superfund, millions of private wells have unknown arsenic levels, and in some areas of the US, over 20% of wells may contain levels that exceed established limits.[4
see where im going with this

Oh it would work - doing that same exact thing with maybe just a tiny bit higher dosage is one of the best ways to kill someone all sneakly like

Nope, not really. Define "increased levels." you have access to the original doument that has the original quote in it? Does it tell how much arsenic is in an average cig? Or an average pack? or any of those chems really...
a 1% increase is still an increase... How much of an increase are we talking here? I would assume that it is significant, but I learned LONG ago that people use words like that to hide the amount of the increase....
Wow, 10ppb is the drinking water standard, and some foods can contain that much?
TBH I'm not really sure ow you tricked me, but maybe I'm just being dense. BTW have I rated you yet? You deserve 5 for the decent conversation!

what i was getting at is these chemicals listed, are dangerous, in the quote i posted it was shown to caused increased cancer below the water standard, which would show that these chemicals are even more dangerous than we suspect.
basically the trick was you listed all the chemicals we come in contact with for me, and if were already in contact with them and already having problems then increasing the levels even more would be a bad idea, so even if cigs do happen to have a small percentage you have to add that into what were getting from other sources aka whats already in our bodies, and also accumilations over time

Very nice.
I would like to see the actual numbers before I finalize my thoughts on this, But nice. Now we know that at least one of the ingredients can cause an increase in cancer (rates, i assume?) at levels deemed to be safe. But how much are we actually getting?
Theoretically you are right.
But arsenic tolerance can also build up over time.
Quote:
Arsenic is a toxin that binds to and inactivates proteins that are essential to metabolism. However it can be inactivated in the body by enzymes called metallothionines, and the presence of arsenic can induce liver cells to produce more of these. If small quantities of arsenic are consumed over a period of time, then enzyme production will be induced more often and background levels will increase, thus allowing you to survive a dose of arsenic that would normally be lethal.
I'll survive levels of arsenic that you won't!!
But back on topic, does the tolerance apply to the *increased* levels of cancer? Are you eventually immunized to even those effects?

stop being such a pussy and just do it.
put one cigarrette in 8 ounces of boiling water, let it steep for three to five minutes, sweeten to taste and enjoy.
then, after you have a marvelously enchanting time, write us a trip report (you can cite the doctors notes from the ER) so the world will know.
plants and insects are pussies, of course they can't handle it.

Oh my god that sounds unpleasant. I made a tobac brew to take care of some spider mites this year, I got a little nauseous just from handling it too much, but tobacco is nasty anyways.

If I was ever addicted to cigarettes, I'd probably just synthesize myself some nicotine and save myself the lung problems. I plan to synthesize thc one day. Maybe one of the more potent and longer lasting variations.
