I dug up an old book today(True Hallucinations, T. Mckenna) and began to read. I was wondering if those Stropharia cubensis found at mission La Chorrera were ever brought back and grown out? I forget if they mention it later on. It would shur be nice to have one of those prints in my collection!

Well, I only know of Psilocybe cubensis, and why, yes, they have been grown indoors for quite a while now....
Check out the pictures forum here, they are all pretty much cubensis.

page 207 True Hallucination's by Terrance McKenna
"The very spore's gathered at La Chorrera were now furiously producing mushroom psilocybin in my home"
I like how he talk's about trying to grow them forever and giving up and then going into his shed to clean it out and finding them growing
"And there they were bt the dozens,by the hundreds, huge picture perfect specimen's of Strophia"

Stropharia cubensis is an old name for Psilocybe cubensis, I believe. There has been much debate over whether the two genera should be combined because the mushrooms are so similar.

i think you'd be hard pressed to find herb under the canopy, given the plant's sun requirement...
-------------------- Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.
