Even if I sold bud and prices were going to drop I'd still vote for it. I don't know how any self respecting pot smoker can argue and say that it being illegal is better. Don't be selfish bastards... This vote isn't just for Cali it's for the whole country. The bill isn't perfect and people say " hey man... The government shouldt get a dime man... Weed should be free man" but that's a bunch of hippie bullshit. If the gov. Don't get a cut it ain't ever gonna be legal. I hate it too but it's reality... Vote yes... Not just for Cali but for your bros & sis's in smoke across this country because if it goes good there it's bound to have a change across the country... Except maybe in Texas ... They'll probably up the laws on mj.
Prop 19 will pass, the polls are lies and bullshit put out by Big Media LA Times (AKA soon to be bankrupt Tribune Co.). They are trying to sway and influence the voters. Prop 19's internal polling shows it in the lead, still. DO you really believe the measure dropped in support by 10% in 10 days? I don't at all.

I just went into an LSD laugh.' Jimi looked over to Herbert, realised that he too was peaking out on acid, tried to say something to Herbie, but it wouldn't come out. - Jimi Hendrix "Electric Gypsy"

SPREAD THE MESSAGE:
This whole election is being rigged. Do you really think CA doesn't want pot legal? Think again. LA Times/Big Media (News Corporation) is setting the stage to make people think it's losing. Big Media is puppeteering. I suspect fraud will occur on election day and if this fails to pass, it will have been an inside job. Corporations will do anything it takes to protect their interests. The worlds largest corporations control interests in the Vatican, the Christian Church, the Politicians, and Big Media, that's why all these sheep are falling for the corporatized trap. I question the accuracy AND integrity of the LA Times polling. Big Media like the bankrupt Tribune Company do what's in the interest of lobbyists and shareholders - not the people. Those lobbyists and shareholders have interests in products that directly compete with hemp and cannabis - from petrochemical to pharmaceutical - alcohol and tobacco. People need to wake up, get past the stupid moral arguments. Cannabis was outlawed on the guise of moralism - we've been brought up brainwashed about this subject. That's what the government wants. I urge you to read www.opposeprop19.com to learn the truth about cannabis prohibition. A bigot by the name of Harry J Anslinger, head of the first Federal Bureau of Narcotics (Now known as the DEA) led a fear mongering scare campaign of racism, yellow journalism, lies, and propaganda because he was bankrolled by large corporations (DuPont and Hearst). These corporations had interests in the timber and paper industry that hemp was a threat to. The only reason pot is illegal is because you can't slap a registered trademark symbol on it.

not gonna lie man texans fucking love their weed, they're just really deep in the shadows about it.
texans and they're lawmakers have a hard time admitting when they're wrong, im a little surprised they haven't jumped on the MMJ bandwagon yet. i give it another year or two, and if cali legalizes i think you can expect other states across the us to follow suit in the next 5-10 years, hopefully texas included.
For anything big to pass in Texas, there has to be major public support for it so the bill gets attention. Someone tried to make salvia illegal but it got pushed out of the way for more important things (like actually having a balanced budget). So while it's hard to ban things, it's going to be even harder to legalize the already banned ones.

I thought it was illegal for the government to spend money to influence how people vote.
The MPP made a big issue out of this awhile back.

That was my thought, too.
But, the Chamber seems to be supported through donations.
Donors are not necessarily on the public record.
