Re: HI, new guy, looking for help

Shroom wizard's tek is fine. In my humble opinion though, PF's is the perfect beginner tek. It's been used successfully for almost 10 yrs and it is hard to fail. Depending on where you live (with parents, college dorm?) ambient room temp and light are perfect. If you have to hide it, things will get a little more complicated but can easily adjusted for.

hi thanks for the reply. Unfortunately i do live with my parents and will be growing them in my room. I probably won't have to hide it from the family (using the excuse of science project) but i was thinking of just storing them in my cabinet till they're ready. Is this adequate enough for a fairly good harvest? Any precautions i should look out for?

thanks again

The thing that gets me with PF tek is that so much large expensive equipment is required. The pressure cooker, the terrariums are insane with all sorts of gizmos and gadgets, and the humidification teks, and so on. I am sticking with MMGG while I am still a beginner, and then I will move up to PF, although I must say he rocks.

you are incorrect.
pf tek does not require a pressure cooker, nor does it require large terrariums with lots of extras.
pf cakes, unlke most substrates, can be steamed in any ordinary pot and
the cakes can be fruited in very small terrariums such as a 2-litre bottle using wet paper towels or perlite.
