the non_violent incarcerated pot "criminals" in california

does anybody know what will happen to the currently incarcerated people who have marijuana related charges when and if they legalize MJ in california?

I'd imagine they'd get released.
I have no idea though.
If the laws they violated are repealed under Prop 19 then it would be criminal to hold them in jail.

They would have to still violated federal law.

It's tough to say, but I'd imagine nothing will happen to them (as sad as it seems).

Reason:
According to a recent rally I attended with Judge Jim Gray, Prop 19 holds no laws affecting those who have already been convicted of marijuana related offenses.  Put plainly, those convictions were enacted in accordance with the law at the time of offense and therefore are not automatically voided if the laws subsequently were to change.  There are procedures by which a state governor can encourage and possibly begin to review low level marijuana offenses for absolution (for lack of a better term), but it won't be an easy course and should not be expected.
