I'd like to know if its possible that if.. Someone that has something against you gos to the police and makes shit up or whatever n says so n so has a lb of weed in his house. Is that enough "proof" for the cops to get a warrent to come search your place?

Yes, but I believe the warrant has to be specific. It has to give the exact location of said pound of weed, and they can only look in that exact spot.

If they see anything else laying around in plain sight, then it's useable, but I don't think they can just turn the house upside down looking for shit without consent.

If they ask "Hey can we look around some more" and they say "Duuuhh, OK" then they can do whatever they want.

IME (IANAL) the warrent only has to be as specific as the property location on which suspected contraband is to be found. It is up to the descresion of the "investigating" (read: terrorizing) officers.

Examples:
AFOAF had his parents house raided for some illegal activities he was involved in. They warrent allowed the police to search the entire house. However, when his parents consented to the search of his bedroom, the rest of the house went untouched. They even gave a pot pipe they found in his room to his parents and never cited that as evidence.

I personally was raided. No residents of the apartment (my roommates or myself) were present at the time of the raid to give consent, but the entire place was searched, trashed, and basically fucked up anyway. Shit, the landlord even came running out with a baseball bat, wondering why there was yelling and such. He quickly droped his weapon and retreated into his apartment when an officer pointed a gun at him.

Point being, they will rip apart your place, no matter what the warrent says.

Generaly they wont....when you go to the cops they want a few details before they believe something, questions like how do you know about it, what is your relation to the individual, all kinds of stuff....but they may look at your friends house and the kind of traffic that goes through there....but your friend is better off being safe...it beats a short prison term
