This is criminally stupid and the holder of that idea should be pantsed and his tiny pete exposed to ridicule throughout the land.

Yeah, 1963.  I'm sure the defenders back then were just as good as they were from the 90's on.

Nobody swash buckled like Barry.

You play in your time.  Jim Brown was the most dominant player of his era and maybe of any era.

They haven't named Barry yet.  I was just listing names in no particular order.  They still have Payton, Brown and Sanders left for RB's.

He's on the list on nfl.com at rank #17, even though it's not posted on the site yet.

When I looked, they hadn't posted it yet.  It's coming on in a few minutes, time to set the DVR.

Where did you find 20-11?  I couldn't find it on NFL.com or at http://top100.nfl.com/

BTW, Ronnie Lott was number 11.

Top 10?

The previous listing was on nfl.com videos section for some reason, just search for Barry Sanders.

I think out of all of those players, Jerry Rice stands out the most to me.  Of course he's the only one left from his position.

It's kind of silly to rank QBs vs defensive players etc when their roles and accomplishments are mearsured completely differently.

But yeah, Montana obviously is towards the top, as is Taylor and White.    And Brett Favre doesn't deserve to be on that same list of players, no way.

He deserves it more than Peyton Manning.

Neither one of them deserve to be ranked this high.

I think it's just an NFL promotional thing, trying to keep people hyped up on players who are still currently in the league.

Montana was way more consistently clutch than either one of those guys, by far.

Bret Favre stick's out like a sore thumb on that list. To an extent, so does Payton
Manning.
Otto Graham and O.J. Simpson should be higher. Graham going to the championship
every year of his carreer and O.J. running over 2000 yards in a 14 game season.

There is no good way to say who is the best between Jim Brown and Barry Sanders.
Barry would strike fear in the opposing defense. The whole league feared Jim.
If Bo Jackson stayed healthy, there might not even be a debate who the g.o.a.t was.

Peace
Spock

yeah every time i think about Bo it makes me a lil sad.

Anyone with two eye balls and any sense in gauging NFL talent knows what he would've been capable of.

One of the greatest professional athletes ever.

I like his new commercial btw.

Gene Hickerson should be in the top 100.

Favre wasn't even in the Top 100 though, and he holds a lot of the top QB records.  If he's not in the top 100 for that, he must be in the top 10, that's the only thing I can think of.

Isn't Favre rated #20?

He is with little doubt top 100 but I still think 20 is too high.
I'd take Steve Young(#81) over Favre for my team any day.
Tom Brady seems about right at 21.

Otto Graham > Joe Montana > Steve Young > Tom Brady > Bret Favre > Peyton
Manning.  Johnny U somewhere in there. JMO.

Peace
Spock

ps. Forgot about Marino.
