Exactly. There is no way that bumbling fuckwit could ever take part in a live debate. His speeches are a mixture of hollow buzzwords and inane drawl, with next to no actual content.
Frankly I think it's unacceptable for the white house to just ignore this opportunity because they "don't think saddam is being serious". So much for war being a last resort.

You do know that Daddy bush supported (gave money to) Saddam H. and so really it is the Bush camp that has allowed this man to be where he is. Same thing with AL-queda, and Bin Laden, hehe our GOVT. bring em in, and then we go and take em out. Makes sense I guess. All the while american boys n girls die, and not to mention the other casulties of war.
Man shit, you don't think bush and saddam talk??
Holy shit man you got to be kiddin me.
Dont worry, pretty soon there will be another "attack" on the US soil, not by any outside forces but by our own govt. so that the powers that be can put into place the patriot act 2, further take away all rights, lock down the cities and control people in the name of "freedom"
Holy shit times are going to be so bad. Listen do any of you know the tactic of good cop bad cop? You know where 2 people are actually working together, but pretend to be fighting so that the person they are trying to trick/control will give in to the good cop, thinking to them selves "yea ok I did the right thing"
haha holy shit what a joke
Its the same trick here,
Saddam "Hey ummmm Bush lets have a debate man" Bush "Oh uhhh no way man, you need to do as your told" Saddam "umm well ok I will fight you to the death" Bush "ok lets get some oil, set up total police state (just in case someone thinks what I am doing is wrong)"
It doesn't matter if Bush and Saddam ever have a debate.

Where has Saddam asked for the debate to take place. Because Bush sure as hell wouldn't go if it were in Iraq, nor should he.

If little bush doesn't agree to a public debate then that proves he's totally committed to war. That would cause me to wish on little bush the kind of painfull death some innocent Iraqi's are gauranteed to suffer.

Why do you assume they'd be in the same place?
-------------------- You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. Yeah! They'd have to meet for the boxing match, but not a debate.

I think it's clear that Saddam is doing what he can to illustrate the reality of the Bush Administration. Saddam knows that Shrub would never agree to such "games", and that's exactly the point Saddam is trying to make: The Bush Administration is not the diplomatic goddess she is dressed to be. However, if through some wild fluke Shrub did agree to the debate, there's no doubt in my mind Saddam would follow through.
In my opinion; as ridiculous a suggestion it is from Baghdad, Bush is obligated to agree to save his own grossly tarnished face.
I think it's absolutely laughable how simply subversive Saddam can be. That is, if one ignores the atrocities he brings to his own people.
Much hope for better things to come to the Arab world.

I don't know one way or the other. I just realized that I jumped to the conclusion that Bush should debate Saddam no matter what, without knowing the full details of Saddam's offer. Note to self: do not form opinions based solely on Shroomery users' posts.
