South Downs (UK) Identification Help
    #13347852 - 10/17/10 11:40 AM (13 years, 4 months ago)

Hello all,

Quite new to this game so don't really have a clue when it comes to identification. Hope you are able to help.

The following picture shows four different types of shrooms found on the South Downs in the UK today.

Sorry they are all in one photo, let's call them numbers 1 to 4 (left to right. Here's a close-up of the underside of nos. 1 & 2:

...and nos. 3 & 4:

I'm not sure any of these are any use, to be honest, but if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it, thanks in advance!

Top pic looks like (from left to right) a Stropharia sp., Panaeolus sp., Coprinus micaceus, and another Panaeolus sp.  I think the Panaeolus is P. papilionaceus.

These are all guesses but you don't have any actives, that I'm sure of.

I suspect 3 and 4 pic are Conocybe apala and Psathyrella sp. respectively and agree with the other 2 IDs given.
