Some choices:

BRF
WBS
Rye berries
Poo

etc...

poo isn't a grain substrate like BRF, Rye grain, Birdseed or Popcorn.
It's a bulk substrate.

Anything can be spawned into poo.

Anything spawned into poo is better than a plain grain substrate...IMHO.

As a grain by itself (not including spawning it to poo) I've heard good things about Millet (Bird Seed).
