LSD hospital admissions rise in the capital 13 oct 2010 - Radio NZ
Wellington Hospital's emergency department has had a surge in patients needing treatment after taking the hallucinogenic drug LSD.
The hospital says last year it would see a patient under the influence of LSD only about once every six months but since January this year, it has been admitting one or two every weekend.
The hallucinogenic drug fell out of favour in the early 2000s when Ecstasy became more popular with recreational drug users.
But an emergency medicine consultant at Wellington Hospital, Paul Quigley says more young people are using it as the quality and reliability of available Ecstasy wanes.
Dr Quigley says more people are arriving at the emergency department experiencing anxiety, insomnia and hallucinations so strong they find it difficult to communicate what is wrong.
Chris Wilkins from Massey University's drugs research unit says his own research suggests a trend towards more LSD use in other main centres too.

The machine won't educate these spastics admitting themselves into the ER, that apart from the ability to give a fright, LSD is fairly harmless. The machine will spew out rubbish 'facts' telling the tale of the unscrupulous pushers killing all the kids with the deadly 'LSD' then find a Darwin candidate that thought he'd drop about a house brick of acid then roof surf a train and blame his death squarely and firmly on the acid (not poor genetics).

Idiots, why would you ever go the hospital for LSD? It can't kill you! These people ruin drugs for us. They're already illegal but the police will crack down more if it's in the news that deadly mushrooms and LSD are killing the youth.
I hate pussy trippers. I gave my friend DXM and he tried to call 911. I had to take his phone from him. When shit gets scary and you just want to come back to reality, let go and see where it takes you. Psychedelics are like a chinese finger trap. The more you struggle against the effects the worse they get.

SORRY TO DEBASE AND DEVALUE ALL THAT HAS BEEN SAID SO FAR
but have any of you considered it's not actually LSD? In which case going to the ER would be a VERY wise idea if you felt in a bad place.
LSD is like ecstasy these days, a wholly inaccurate misnomer. LSD is (not just) pieces of paper or liquid with a potent hallucinogen embedded. Just as ecstasy is (not just) a random club drug contained in pill form that may or may not be MDMA.

Good point, isn't there an RC that people lay on blotter also.
In any case I find it hard to imagine wanting to call 911 for a bad trip. Wait the cops and hospital will make things safer.
And if it is LSD this is good news, is it just making a comeback? How many hospital visits where there in the mid 90's? I would love to see it like it was in the 90's, ah... those where good times for me.

Correct me if I'm wrong sir, but I don't believe any other drugs are potent enough to be active on a tiny blotter.

Dox or DOB...?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2,5-Dimethoxy-4-bromoamphetamine If it's bitter it's a splitter, or so I have heard. In my time it was either real or paper. Now it can be something else.

Of course the bad news for you being that you can't get much further away from America than New Zealand.
Acid's a pretty big thing over here, I've never come across bromo or DOB, always just been varying strengths of LSD. Never even had bunk acid before and I eat the shit almost every weekend since MDMA hasn't existed in our "E" pills for around 2yrs or more now.
$60 for a shitty mephedrone+amphetamine "E" that peaks at 30mins and is finished after 60-90mins, or $30 for a tab that will tear your face off for 8-12hrs?
Only fools go to hospital on LSD. Guaranteed it's the 18yr olds buying it in clubs instead of a pill and not being prepared for it.

For me, clubs would suck on Acid and I could only imagine the experience of a half pissed young guy/girl in a club who buys acid for the first time...I reckon that might just upset their apple cart.

Forgot about DOB.... nasty business.... Never heard of the other two.
Sigh, why are people such dicks...In the end, when some poor kid freaks out everybody ends up paying for it.
