My first SGFC some questions (pic)

So i finished my dunk (24hrs) and roll today, was making my SGFC with a heated screwdriver but that wasnt working so well, i finished holes on one side of the FC but need to finish the others tommorow with a drill hopefully.
I was wondering how much i need to fan for the time being until tommorow evening probably...
Also is it ok that the top has no light comming in? im going to put holes in it, but will the mushrooms just grow torwards the side? no smaller yield?
Thanks

The indirect light should be enough.

Those cakes look really short. Whats up with that?
I would stack them two cakes high.
And since your wanting a nice pinset, I would fan loads.
Did you get holes in the bottom yet? those are the most important, then the top holes.

My cakes are perfectly fine!!!! Most of you use said jar:

I used this jar:

couldnt find another picture...
When you say stack the cakes... what will that do for the yield? Shouldnt their width make up for their height? The myc. colonized the whole cake so i dont see why it should be different.

You do need to get the holes straightened out, it is important. It is also something you should have prepared before you birth your cakes for future grows.
As for the perlite deal, you are fine as long as you spray them and keep the humidity up, a humidifier would be your best bet for this type of setup. Just keep a close eye and fan a few times a day for FAE(fresh air exchange).
Stacking the cakes will just give the mushrooms a better pallet to grow on. Those sides are small, just better to have a taller cake so they can branch out and not be so linear.

No, anyone following the PF tek uses the short 1/2 pint wide mouths. Yours look wider than them. Could just be me.
The shotgun is based on those holes, so without the holes you WILL need a humidifier, or some bubble bars....I don't even really know how to build a PMP but if you don't follow the shotgun directions, that's what you'll have. A PMP.
The easiest way to make a shotgun fruiting chamber is to throw it in your backyard and shoot it with a shotgun, hence the name. So maybe you have a shotgun I don't know, but of course the holes won't be uniform.
You need to raise the shotgun an inch or two off whatever surface it is resting on, so those holes that are so important on the bottom can circulate the air through that damp perlite and create the high humidity you need.
The top is ok the way it is, except it will need holes as well. Light from just the sides will work fine.
In my opinion yes, you do need more perlite. 4-5 inches. Some people say 6, I think that's overkill but the more the better definately. Just make sure your shrooms have headspace to grow or they'll be all twisted and cramped.
I personally would leave the cakes the way they are, unstacked.
Not sure if they're sitting on tin foil but if they're not, you need to do that as well to elevate them off the perlite.
Probably missing something but that will get you going.

Thanks for the tips, i will be finishing the rest of the holes tommorow evening so no worries on that. I put a piece of square foil under all the cakes.
Ill post more pictures later. hopefully i get a fat yield =D
