can cubensis grow on peatmoss or worm castings?

In a spawn medium say like a pf jar filled with half brown rice then the other half worm castings or peatmoss will it grow on eather of these things?

I think that the pH of the peat moss might be too acidic, that is why it is usually counter balanced with hydrated lime.

But I would imagine that worm casings would work along with vermiculite. Notice I say along with. Worm casings are very beneficial as an additive to substrate, but I would not substitute it entirely for vermiculite.

If I wanted to add casings to a PJ recipe, I would buy the worm casing pouches that you soak in water to make Worm Casing tea and then use that as an additive to my PF recipe.

I.E. hydrate the verm and brf with the casing tea instead of water.

id guess he's looking to make pf cakes and doesnt have verm.

castings are too dense for this purpose and peat moss colonizes slow. boomers like verm. get some.
