i have some questions i was hoping some of you could help me answer. first of all how long do you have to wait after sex before a home testing pregnancy test is affective and how much do home testing pregnancy tests cost. i am also wondering whats the longest you can wait to get a legal abortion? how many months after she is pregnant is the latest you can wait to have the abortion? also how much on average do abortions cost? thanks

Pregnancy tests are effective in less than a week. I think they usually cost $10-$15.. The woman can however get the "morning after pill" prescribed within a day or two. It works by preventing the release of an egg or by preventing a fertilized egg from implanting.. So, it's not an abortion pill as some think.. You can get it from your family doctor, local planned parenthood, clinic, etc.. Abortion laws vary by state so you'll have to look all of that up on your own. (Edited for spelling )

Well, I'm not sure, but I think it's like $20... I don't think that you can get it for free. But if it's been longer than two days or so then it's not going to do any good.

It's just two big doses of regular old birth control pills. It is definitely NOT something that you would want to use on a regular basis. If you want to buy something in bulk to have around, buy bulk condoms online. Women can get birth control from the local Planned Parenthood clinic, or a local health clinic. Birth control pills are relatively inexpensive.

I hope the reason you're getting back with her isn't because she's pregnant....

Yes you do need a prescription. They usually give you a prescription with several refills on it so you don't have to go back to the doctor/clinic every month.

Planned Parenthood is definately a good thing to look into. Services are performed at very low prices, but also depends on your monthly income. I pay $0 for pills (used to pay $7 which is still very cheap), but pay a $15 visit fee. Definately worth it if one doesn't have health insurance. They usually give you 3-4 months worth of pills and require you to have an annual exam. Now if you go to a regular doctor they will normally prescribe you a year worth of pills and give you another at your annual exam. Hope I helped ya out a bit.

Hey no prob!!! Anytime.
Actually $7 a month, but that's cheap. If one had to get them from a doctor w/ no insurance they could cost up to $100 depending on the brand. If your girl plans on using this service, tell her to tell them that she makes less that what she really does. The sevices will be cheaper. I think you can go at any age. If there is an age limit, it's at least 15 maybe younger. And everything is confidential if you want it to be. They have something called the "Carol Code." If they need to contact you for some reason they will say that Carol called or send no return addess on envelopes. It is really a great program!

nobody answered this part of the question, and I'm sure it varies with location but an actual abortion (which has time limits varying by location, here it must be done within 6 months) costs about 400-500 dollars here.

pregnancy tests are almost 100% effective- 98% i think I took one a few months ago and it came out positive, i thought my life was over (it was a one night stand when i was drunk-nothing i'm proud of), but after going to the docotrs, i realized i had a severe horomone imbalance. So theyre not always right. I think everyone else answered your questions though. I know in MD you have to be 18 or have parent permission to get an abortion or the morning after pill. I get birth control for free from the planned parenthood clinic (all i had to do was show them proof that i go to school fulltime), and i go back every month to get a refill.
