This specimen was growing on unfertilized lawn approximately a foot from an evergreen shrub and 3 feet from a concrete foundation of a building.
The fungi did not have much of a lamella; quite literally the whole cap was paper thin and infundibuliform in nature; the gills were almost indistinguishable from the cap. The color was grey/white and very translucent. I could see the color of my skin through it.
The diameter of the stem was less than 2mm and was white in color and apparently translucent (I did not pick it so I couldn’t check for sure). It did have a hairy texture to it from observation.
The caps diameter was approximately 18mm and way to thin for my caliper to check (less than 100 micrometer), but from estimates thinner than standard printer paper. The cap had a circular concave shape, for what I understand as a muted infundibuliform. The texture was smooth to the touch. I was unable to obtain a spore print due to the mushroom shriveling up before I had a chance to pick it.
I was unable to test for this due to the same reasons above. I could not get a scent of the mushroom since the closely proximate juniper bush had too strong of a scent.
After a fall rain in the early morning I found this mushroom when on my way to class at university, and pulled out my camera to take a picture because I have never seen one like this before. I took several pictures and ten continued to class. 6 hours later came back from school and noticed that the mushroom shriveled up to almost nothing; I wanted to pick it and take a spore print but it was so far gone I decide to leave it. 24 hours after I first noticed it the mushroom was completely gone.

With the known information could this be it? http://www.biopix.dk/Photo.asp?Language=es&PhotoId=74607
Out of curiosity I decided to check the colony area; and found another specimen. This time I picked a sample and am preparing a spore print... I'll post the results soon. Hopefully it is dark since I put it on white paper (Parasola plicatilis should have dark spores), this colony seems to only produce one or two fruiting bodies per week if it rains and I don't want to hurt it's growth by removing the few it produces.

Pretty certain that these are Coprinopsis, not Parasola. The way the cap upturns, the colour, and if you notice in the first photo in pkramer's second post, there are fibrils on the cap.
