Can't grapple with boxing/MT gloves.
When I used to fight untrained friends, we always did pure boxing (16oz+headgear) followed by pure grappling (wrestling/submission). Nobody got hurt, everyone had a good time and they quickly found out they shouldn't be fighting.
Really important thing to watch with MMA gloves is fingers in the eyes, don't go losing your sight over some beer bet.

O, the hardest time I ever was hit was with an elbow to my right eyeball/lower right eye socket and it dropped me instantly and I just rolled and had to get my composure, I think the guy was surprised at how well it landed that he didn't take advantage, I was stunned and he had a window of opportunity he missed which I am very thankful for, hopefully that doesn't happen again but I had fun that time too and now me and that guy are friends.
That was a street fight so no mouth guard or glove, got lucky, don't want to have to go to the dentist and replace veneers again.

yea that's a precaution we'll be both taking, we're friends so we don't want to blind each other lol.
We actually won't be wearing cups but I think it'll work out, if either of us is hit, just take a breather, we've decided on just 3 3 minute rounds, 9 minutes aint bad.

Crazy fuckers
I can't even stand getting kicked in the dick with a steel cup on.
I would be lying if I said I haven't suffered a lot of penis damage from fighting It's no joke.

Have you ever taken a hit from someone whos trained to deliver hits or who trains their body to naturally deliver force though? Because being hit by a normal person and being hit by a fighter are two very different things! - Just read your recent post - Ahh, yeah elbows are pretty much as bad as it gets. If someone knows how to throw a proper elbow they can be really nasty.
Your aware that being knocked unconcious essentially is brain dammage?
Yeah, haha, it always hurts more the next day once your not so amped up.

If he wasn't allowed to throw hits on the ground I think he would likely get destroyed by a wrestler if he's any good

I just said that because ground striking or kneel'd striking is where all the danger is. If the body has no where to recoil to then all the force is delivered instantly. Also kicks/knees to a downed opponent can deliver a serious ammount of force that can really do some bad dammage.

You're totally right; I'm just saying if all he can do on the ground is use leverage, grappling etc. the wrestler is going to have a massive advantage there

For sure. But the flip side of that is the wrestler is most likely going to cop a fair few hits during the standup, and has to eat atleast 1 hit everytime he goes for the takedown.

we'll see, he wrestled for his team but I used to wrestle for shits and giggles with the captain of our team so I'm not scared on the floor, it won't be a blow out though, we're both probably going to do some damage.

I used to fight with friends back in High School and video tape it. Just have a third party, don't do anything stupid, and have fun. Don't listen to the naysayers, it's a good time
Eat light, like a Snickers or something to that extent. Stay hydrated. Also, I agree with the no hitting while on the ground thing, it makes sense and eliminates a lot of things that get people hurt.

Me and my mates also used to organise playfights too. We would have a duel and say no hits above the neck or below the belt. Its great fun man because you can belt the crap out of eachother and no one really gets hurt.

My best advice I can give you is to do this. Eat some sugar rich fruits like pineapple and some brown rice 2-3 hours beforehand, and eat a good amount of it, you want your stomach to be empty when your fighting. Digestion requires a LOT of energy, so if you aren't digesting, you'll have more energy to fight.
