Just wondering the edibility... and of coarse, the genus and species. Thanks guys.
Habitat: Found in groups of clusters on a dead, standing, hardwood, in mixed, predominately hardwood, forest.
Pileus: 2-5cm broad, convex to flat to sunken, cream to creamy-brown with inrolled margin.
Lamellae: Decurrent, close, creamy to white
Stipe: No true stipe, just short plug of flesh, basically attached to tree at pileus

That's what I'd call them. Those look nice. All the oysters I find and full of bugs.

Definitely an oyster. They sure look tasty! I'd wait for a TI to give you the genus. There are a lot of different oyster species, all of which are edible.

NICE!!!
Wow, those are absolutely PRISTINE~! They are my favorite wild mushroom for sure. Teriyaki stir-fry those bad boys. You will LOVE them. All of the oysters around here are edible and there are very few look-a-likes. Closest thing would be angel wings which seem to be rare especially in the colder season.
I'm so happy to see this post from you chibes. I'm down here on the SC - NC border and you've got me stoked. Can't wait to get back out in the woods!
Where abouts in NC are you at?

It's finally starting to get cooler here, we're in SC pretty much 20 mins away from the foothills trail etc

around 65 to 68, 69 during the day.
It's definitely been a lot cooler the past few days than it has been. Such a relief!

Pleurotus sp. I would guess ostreatus but I've been told that there are a few species of oysters that are pretty much identical except for microscopy stuff.
Those look beautiful! Enjoy!
