Judge hears testimony over marijuana ban Sep 30, 2010 - KULR8
GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) — Three Great Falls men say the city's ban on medical marijuana businesses is preventing them from getting their legal medication.
The men testified Wednesday before District Judge Thomas McKittrick in a lawsuit seeking a court order to prevent the city from enforcing the ban that took effect on July 1.
The city passed a ban on land use that conflicts with federal, state or local laws. Attorney Carl Jensen argues that effectively bans medical marijuana cultivation.
Attorney Curt Drake, who is representing Great Falls, argued that it is not that far for any city resident to reach the city-county line, where they could obtain medical marijuana. Jensen said Thursday that he was not aware of any licensed medical marijuana caregivers in Cascade County.
The Great Falls Tribune reports McKittrick said he would rule as quickly as possible.
NOTE: There is a poll on the source page asking; "When Montana lawmakers convene in January, bills are already drafted concerning the state's medical marijuana law. Should lawmakers:
Repeal the Law: 52% Tweak the law adding tighter state control: 29% Leave it as it is: 19%"
You don't have to register to vote...im sure you'll do your part

Yeah, move out into the boonies where there's no police protection. Deal with the locals who know how to protect themselves.
Question, why relocate the source miles away from it's biggest market? This increases the carbon foot print by forcing people to drive long distances to get their pot. This perverse and ineffectual legislation increases danger on the highways. Uncomfortable sober sick potheads driving out of town, and stoned pot heads driving back into town. Wouldn't it be better if the sick potheads could just walk down the street, buy something, and go home.
If they were allowed to grow it themselves sick pot heads would not have to drive at all. It is well know that sick people are dangerous drivers. You cannot be barfing well and driving well at the same time.
