Preparing cakes for second flush??
    #13269021 - 09/30/10 09:08 AM (13 years, 4 months ago)

I found good information on preparing casing for second round, but cakes . . not so much.

I used the dunk and roll tek so my cake has verm sort of embedded in the cake.  Do I just wash the cake, scrape the cake with fingernails or scape the whole layer of verm off to get to the white layer underneath?

Just dunk again.

No. If you were to roll again you would effectively create a nice breeding ground for contams, sandwiched between the cake and the new layer of verm. Do not scrape off verm, just dunk and place back into your FC.

Allow the cake to sit and dry out slightly for about a week before soaking for the second flush.  This will help bring on a better and more even flush.

Would you say that is a better idea for just cubes, or most species that perform well on a BRF cake RR? I assume the science behind it is simulating nature?

i think its simulating nature

search up how leopardman does his cakes.

he heatbombs them pre-birth
to dry them out pre-dunk

and he gets amazing results.
