Collecting chaga off a fallen birch?
    #13264373 - 09/29/10 12:03 PM (13 years, 4 months ago)

Any chaga hunters out there? I was wondering whether it's advisable or not to collect chaga from a fallen birch tree that is already in an advanced state of decomposition.

I'd say go for it. If the chaga itself is at all mushy you should toss it, but chaga seems to be extremely tough and i have rarely seen it rot.
