Minnesota Blue Stained?

I was surprised to find this mushroom in central MN that stained blue, could anyone ID please?

6 " tall with 4" cap

Habitat: Found growing on the ground in a deciduous woods.

Gills: None, spongy looking.

Stem: White, sturdy, with black streaks/bruising.

Cap: Brown, not slimy, smooth.

Bruising: Bruised blue on lower stem.

Location: Picked in north central MN.

Yeah, it's a Leccinum species, looks like it's in the L. scabrum group, maybe L. variicolor - a birch bolete.

Yes, mostly in the order Boletales and yes, good edible.
