What strain did you use? When did you put the mycelium into the ground? When did you harvest?

How warm do your summers get, and for how long? I would guess you have temps in the 70's, and even 80's, for at least a month and a half/two months (?).

Our summers get warm. In July and August, typical days are around 85+

A friend of a friend of mine is going to attempt this this very summer, actually. I think he said he was going to use a standard strain like B+ for simplicity's sake, and plant a ton of spent straw substrate under soil in the early summer, like around May or June. He lives right near a lake, though, so his humidity is always extremely high - RH rarely dips below 70% in the June/July months for him.
