moss shrooms

I found these middle minnesota growing in a clearing by a swamp.... it was growing out from under the moss in black dirt.
the caps are yellow and brown with fuzz on top and the stems are white with a yellow towards the cap. as for gills and spore print i didnt see any gills so i wasnt sure what is needed in my case...the tallest one in about 2 1/2 inches with a half inch diameter.... anything else you think you may need to know i can fill out... all help is appreciated...thanks!

At first I thought it's an puffball (lycoperdon) sp., but now I'm not too sure. It could be Cortinarius. Take one, slice it in half to see if it has gills underneath, and post pics of that.

im lettin my camera charge but the middle is solid with like brownish red lines going through it.....pictures up soon!

i think it loooks more like the Armillaria gallica from google pics...but are both or either of them active?

It's 100% Armillaria gallica. And 100% not active.

Don't know about these, but some other Armillarias (mellea) cause gastrointestinal problems in people with weaker stomachs. So, as GK said, if you cook them well, you'll probably be fine.

With these pins eating the whole mushrooms is probably going to be ok, but usually you only eat the caps.
