Possibly. I bet the enzymes are heat sensitive and therefor hard to add to agar w/o losing some functionality.

It would be worth an experiment though.

That's probably true, I wouldn't imagine much more so than h2O2 though. Although psilocin and psilocybin do break down at higher temps than h2O2, from what i've read of them. Of course there is no way for me to test breakdown of a molecule, so conclusive experiments would be difficult. However, if the anti bacterial/fungal properties of mycellium are living within them, then they would die during sterilization. Horrible refference, but as white blood cells would fight in the body -- they would also breakdown during sterilization. However if it's some sort of antibiotic, or immunity they have developed some of the "extracts" may be helpful. That or it may be that dung is too nutritious and causes an over excitement of the mycellium, thus creating byproducts (leftovers).

I'm pretty sure stamets addresses the piss in one of his books. I'm winging from memory here. Seems like I'm picking up at something like, "but not all discoloration is contamination, mushrooms excrete metabolic wastes etc etc"

I think he says,
1 small amounts are normal and not a problem
2 excess is a problem
3 excess stunts growth
4 excess retards developement
5 excess encourages contaminates such as bacteria (due to wetness and anaerobic conditions) and molds (due to pH)
6 contains antibiotics, alcohols and acids, mostly alcohols
7 excess is indication of over incubation-time or over incubation-temperature

Don't remember which book it was, but I'm pretty sure the jist was, hey don't get freaked out thinkin the yellow goop is a contam, but don't encourage it either.

but in large quantities dried, maybe it could be useful, and eventually synthesized if it were helpful

Just found this old thread. I read in TMC "causing the exudation of metabolites ("sweat") and the build up of fluids in which bacteria can thrive"
I heard it contains alcohols, but the metabolites interests me. Could this piss be worth drinking? or drying out and eating?

yup its nitrogenous waste and yes it does have applications. It is used to refertilize soil for plants, just as plants waste is used to fertilize for fungus.

the smarties of the bunch will realize that growing your bud plants and mushies out of the same soil creates a symbiosis and enhances the growing environment for each.
