I am just curious as to if anyone else has been using any of these in any forms in their grows. And if so what your results have been?

Ive seen someone use cat-tails/bullrush as a substrate b4 they treated/prepped it like straw.
so pending on the consistancy of the seaweed/alge/kelp I would try it as an additive first then use larger amounts as you try/test.

Some growers use it but it is not necessary. You should focus more energy finding poo. Then you cut the poo w/ coir. add gypsum and verm & your ready to go.
fuck the kelp and shit

I was curious because I use in my sub coir, straw, hpoo, coffee, verm, and gypsum. I soak my straw over night with seaweed slurry from seaweed I collect myself. Then I drain well add it to my other dry ingredients. Then when I hydrate/pasteurize I add a kelp/algae extract to my boiling water just before I pour it into my bucket.
I am pleased with the results as far as less contams, and I seem to get more even sized fruits when I use the kelp/algae extract. I have tried this with controls several times and have felt I have got the same results every time. Also I noticed when dropping my spawn ratio, after adding the kelp/algae my yields went back to what they were when I was using a higher spawn ratio.
So NOT fuck the seaweed, kelp, or algae.

Seaweed makes an excellent substrate supplement. Up until about 5 or so years ago when it was still thought that adding tryptophan or tryptamine to substrates would increase potency, I did hundreds of grows with various tryptophan-rich substrates such as seaweed and rye grass seed, hoping to see an increase in potency. No documented increase in potency ever came, but it's still an excellent substrate.
Not even pure lab-grade Tryptamine gave any increase in potency when added to the substrate, so save your money. Collecting seaweed was fun though and gave me an excuse to drive my truck up and down the beach. RR

Didnt know any of that. I was just messing around with it because free, and it gives me an excuse to walk down the block to the beach. I didnt even think about increasing potency. these things knock my socks off already!!!!!!!!!
