humidifier in a shotgun FC
    #13212999 - 09/18/10 06:50 AM (13 years, 4 months ago)

I've recently been thinking about adding a humidifier to my shotgun FC setup.  I use perlite and mist, but I imagine that the humidifier would saturate the soil more evenly and deeply than misting, and do so more frequently than I can.  Is this something that is done, or is this just a waste of money?

You don't need to it stay wet.
You want it to dry a bit, then you replace the moisture.

So... no.
(Might be a handy way to re-wet the perlite once a week though.)

Exactly what you don't want to happen.  Don't fix what isn't broken.

humidifiers are a valuable tool in mycology, but they are used in other set-ups. They aren't suited to a sgfc. you need a whole different set-up to run a humidifier
