I don't really see a need for the wand. If the straw is loose, the steam should penetrate all over the basket. You can easily tell by sticking your thermometer in various places. RR

Actually, all you need to do is go to the auto store and pick up 10 feet of 1/4 inch fuel line hose, and hook it up to the rubbermaid tote and the pc. I saw that RR recomended somewhere, maybe even in that thread. I have done it this way for about 400 lbs of sud over the past year. hasn't failed me yet
that is the coolest idea ever!
do you have a close up shot of the hose?
do you have to mod it to fit the PC nicely?
would a cooler get to hot using this method?
Beat me to it....excellent post! 5 Shrooms.
I also wonder whether you just yank the hose off the PC when it gets to temp (I am sure that this is a low pressure operation) ?? ...and then put it back on once in a while?
Thanks for sharing!
JD
P.S. The roaster idea is provocative too.

I never put the wieght on, I just start boiling and watch the meat therm.... the pc pressurizes to like 3 or 4 lbs. Thanks for the heads up on the wand RR. Also I have not used straw yet as a subtrate, I use something similar to damiens coir teck, but i add other things sometimes that need to be pasturized to the hilt. I also use 3mil trash bags, as it makes it easy to just tumble my spawn in and pour out into my monos. Thanks for the shrooms JD....
