I not suggesting any of these places operate in a vacuum, it's not an all or nothing proposition.

You don't think Assad has tried to get the US to get out of Syria? Seriously???
-------------------- I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them. I also attack my side if I think they're wrong. People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

And its not like these nations havent tried to kick out the colonial powers.
But thats when we invade them, sanction them, assassinate their leaders, finance an insurgency, foment a military coup, etc.
Iran tries to nationalize oil? Fuck that. Coup.
Guatemala tries to kick out the United Fruit Company? Fuck that. Coup.
Its funny how a few hundred thousand refugees is enough to topple Western civilization entirely, but literally toppling governments in a region for decades isnt responsible for creating the refugees in the first place.
A slight uptick in social service spending? End of the world.
Destabilizing an entire continent? Inconsequential.

Patlal enjoys making unfounded claims about natural law in his arguments. He believes capitalism is the result of evolution, genes, and mother nature - he is also admittedly unwillingly to consider non-conservative thinking. He has a veneer of reasonableness that many of our resident conservatives lack, but I've stopped searching for much substance in his posts.
Anyways, here's the insurrectionist meme I came to post:

You guys can upvte this all you want, for now...
I paying $1000 soon to get my IQ officially tested through psychiatric method. Verbal skills, math skills, reasoning skill, MRI, CT scan, etc.
I might be a fucking moron. It's entirely possible.
But if I come back with a score that I expect to be very high, you need to promise to review your perception of me. Otherwise I will constantly throw the number on the table and rub it in your collective faces.
I'll take the shit for now. I have no other choice.... But I might slap you in the face with a big surprise. Be prepared.

"veneer of reasonableness"
That's funny coming from someone like yourself.

Wow, good luck with that - that's a lot of money!
Mensa accepts members whose intelligence is in the top 2%. They have many ways of determining if you fall in that category (which of course includes tests administered by private psychologists). I took the GMAT test, so I know where I stand relative to the 2% cutoff.

You sure they just didn't really like the meme?
Anyways, I'm not saying you're a moron - I'm stating that you make grand claims (like capitalism being the unavoidable result of natural law) without providing anything beyond axiomatic or anecdotal reasoning in support. In other words, your arguments lack substance. That's not irreconcilable with having a high IQ.

I hope you come back with a big number. Don't expect to impress anyone too much though. I would wager that the majority of regular posters in this forum are at least 1 standard deviation above the mean. shivas.wisdom had a good point in thatmmbeing quite intelligent doesn't lend evidence to your assertions. More than once, you've made wild claims without supporting evidence beyold your intuition. Maybe irl, you're the smartest of your group of friends and they simply accept whatever conclusions come off the top of your head, but i wouldn't expect that here, no matter how high your I.Q. may be.
