Is this cake growth normal . . . (pics)

I've had six fully colonised cakes sitting in my fruiting chamber (a PMP) for five and a bit days now. So far no pins but I know that isn't unusual and I'm prepared to be patient. I'm just having concerns about the growth of my cakes. I dunked for 24 hours and then rolled in verm prior to placing the cakes in my chamber. Being a PMP the cakes get constant airflow and humidity from the bubble wands under the perlite. However, I also mist and fan twice daily (once in the morning and once at night). The chamber is also given 12/12 6500k light. I have been searching for pictures of cakes and I haven't yet come across any displaying similar growth.

All six cakes are displaying similar growth to the one above. I took other pictures (with a camera phone) but these are the two clearest. Do I have anything to be concerned about? Should I be doing something differently? As you may already be able to tell, this is my fist grow so any help will be greatly appreciated

I think the consensus answer is going to be that you need to give them more fresh air. Those stones wands won't provide enough. Are you fanning regularly?
I've also seen cakes do that when I left them in the jar a bit too long.

Thanks for the advice, andymc. It's going to be difficult for me to fan more that two to three times daily due to work, etc. This was part of the reason that I chose to go with the PMP. Still, I will fan as much as I can and just wait to see what happens.

Make a SGFC. It'll work much better, with a lot less fanning required compared to your pmp.

just drill some holes.
PMP are good. but you can't rely solely on the air pump.

Thank you all for the advice. I will definately consider making a SGFC next time around. I will probably stick with the current setup for this run and just try and fan more often. In the mean time . . . pins!

Fan more for sure. PF tek cakes should be done in a SGFC imo. RR wouldnt have this in the pf tek if it wasnt reliable.
Pretty cool picture quality on those mycelium arms though. Hopefully they dont pick the mushrooms before you do.
