Are your caps dryed all the way so that it almost crumbles to the touch? Did you put them in the freezer?

I can almost assure all of you, that this user with over 700 posts, would not post such a newbie question. Rather, I imagine these spots to NOT be spores at all. I once knew someone who has this before. The mushrooms very fine, apparently... and we assumed it was just genetic. Sort of like the brown stripes sometimes found in mushrooms (usually second flush)

Yea man its not spores...DUH Lol It looks like rot almost. My stems have brown stripes in them also. I was thinking it was more along the lines of a contamn. Some caps also have brown bruises or somthing similar (just a couple total are messed up). Then theres 3 mutants that look like regular mushies with un-opened caps untill the edjes flip upwards and invert so all you see are tan sporeless gills. Its pretty neat I wish I had a camera..Damnit! Thanks

Has there been any type of water dripping onto your cubes Resin? That's the only thing I can think of...

Isn't there a bacterial infection that can cause this? Might want to check that..

Some of my creeper caps were almost completely black when dried and they were some of the best shrooms I've ever had. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Hope that helps :-)

There is a bacteria contamination that sounds kinda like what you're describing. Its called Bacterial Blotch, but I'm not sure what its official name is. There's a pic of it in the Contamination FAQ.
Look here to see the picture.

Dude, why do your creeper caps look black when dried? Mine are a nice golden brownish color:) It's awesome how the caps dry with pointy caps:)
Peace

Most of my creeper caps were a golden brown when dried. The ones that were black are the ones that matured on the casing and turned a darker color before harvesting. Its normal for creepers to do that. I'd have to say that creeper is my favorite strain so far. They are beautiful mushies (even when dried). They are also very potent.
