    #1239494 - 01/22/03 10:03 AM (21 years, 2 months ago)

I got a Lipa yai print in a trade.Got some real nice cubensis fruitbodies and to my surprise a few stone like growths.I have grown P.tampanensis and these are very similar. They are not as dense as the tamps.

Has anyone encountered this before.Sorry for the bad pictures.Thats a quater with the stones

Sorry man. I don't think it's possible. It must have been something in your substrate before you innoculated it.

Maybe they are just very mutated fruits? Cubies tend to mutate a lot.

Where were the stones located? The Argentine strain I am working with has put off a few masses that resemble scerotia that grow at the surface of the casing. These masses have grown from aborted fruits and resemble dense cap tissue.

Have noticed with the Argents as well. They form these even on agar.

My Koh Sumai did the same thing, but it only did it off of one cake.

what's wrong with recycling a thread if the subject matter becomes pertinent to what you are doing now? seems a pretty good way to conserve server space/use to me.

Read the response, it was pretty inane. If everyone on this board replied to this thread, and said that they were growing a thai strain (mind you, not the one in question..even)... well this thread might as well be a sticky. I have no problem with reopening a thread with new info or insight, but to say you are growing a cubensis strain. Sorry, i think it's a waste of time for everyone here looking for experimental information.

gah, i hate going OT on a thread like this but personally, I thought shroomophile's response to this thread was worthwhile (especuially considering he WAS answering Joshua's question). if Lipa Yai is stone producing then would it not be good to document how and when and where the stones are being produced? granted Azmodeus' response would have been pretty inane for resurrecting this thread. however, HE isn't the one that resurrected it, shroomophile did and his post seemed worthwhile. maybe you didn't think so? sorry again for the OT.

Well, it appears you are correct. I didn't notice that shroomophile restarted the thread. I thought it was az. Hence my response to him. I was wrong, apology to all parties involved.

Human error happens, eh?
