question about casing?

I know using cakes you can fill the jars with water and put them in the fridge for 24 hours. But what can you do for casings when they are ready? I know you can still put them in the fridge, but is there a way to "dunk" them? Or do you just put them in the fridge to help pin them? Thanks!

I dunk PF casings by removing them from the container and then placing them in a larger container of tapwater. After soaking for 6 hours or so I remove them from the water, let them drain on a rack for 1/2 hour and then put them back in the original container. Patch case and you're back in business!

i don't think cold shocking cubes does anything but slow growth . if the casing looks dry. mist it .put it in your fruiting chamber with 90+ rh, and when you see pins drop rh to 80 . after the first flush, if casing has pulled away from the sides. then you can dunk . i like tapered containers for this(like a pie tin but deeper)you can add water, let soak, and then tip the container to drain .

just re moisten the casing layer and cold shock, no need to dunk
No need to cold shock either.
